Novatek believes it is seriously undervalued in the market
Capitalization of Novatek in the foreseeable future may seriously grow. This is the opinion during an online discussion with Aton analysts Alexander Nazarov, head of the company's investor relations department.
“Of course, the company is undervalued. And, in fact, looking at the prospects for growth in production, for example, LNG, we can talk about significant prospects for growth in capitalization in the long term “, – said Nazarov.
It also became known that Novatek in 2021 will take an investment decision on the project” Ob LNG ”. “There we will see how the markets will behave, the spot gas markets will recover, the prices of oil and other types of raw materials will recover,” the head of the department explained .
“Let's look at the availability, financing prices, and there we will make a decision, – added Nazarov. “We will be ready to implement this project in a very short time when making the final investment decision.”
Earlier, Novatek thought to postpone the creation of the Obskiy LNG
In early summer, Novatek decided to postpone the creation of the Obskiy LNG terminal, which was scheduled to be launched in 2022-2023 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to the company's materials, the full launch of the plant is now scheduled for 2024-2025.
Novatek is planning a pilot project based on the Arctic Cascade technology – the Obsky LNG plant near the port of Sabetta. Its resource base should be the Verkhnetiuteyskoye and Zapadno-Seyakhinskoye fields.
Within the framework of the project, it was decided to build two production lines with a capacity of 2.5 million tons each (5 million tons of LNG per year). The launch of the first is scheduled for late 2022 – early 2023, and the second one in another six to nine months. : ///
